Open reflective practice for frontline workers

Are you a Support Worker? Teacher? Nurse? Doctor? (or do you work in another frontline role?)

Open reflective practice was born from my desire to bring together frontline staff across multiple sectors – to show that what we face on the frontline in education, health, homelessness & social care isn’t so different and so we can learn from each other, improve cross-sector collaboration and all feel less alone.

Together we’ll explore what comes up for us when things happen at work – the good and the bad!

My approach to reflective practice aligns with the Compassionate Inquiry® approach developed by my teacher, Gabor Maté – your triggers are all about you and your beliefs formed way back. If you are not at least open to this possibility, you will really hate this group!

I offer Open reflective practice through the gift economy and ask that you make a payment for the amount that feels right to you after each session.

This group is open to frontline workers from all across the world and runs on the first Wednesday of the month, 12:30-1:30pm UK time (that’s 7:30-8:30am ET).

“Your conflicts, all the difficult things, the problematic situations in your life are not chance or haphazard. They are actually yours. They are specifically yours, designed specifically for you by a part of you that loves you more than anything else. The part of you that loves you more than anything else has created roadblocks to lead you to yourself.”

What to expect

The structure of the 60min session will usually be:

  • Welcome
  • Confidentiality reminder
  • Grounding meditation
  • I’ll ask the group who has something to share and then work with them using Compassionate Inquiry®
  • Whole group or breakout room discussion (if appropriate)

Note that for group safety I expect you to:

  • join the call from a static (no walking, driving etc.) private space
  • use headphones if others near you might be able to hear
  • have your video on
  • be as present as possible – phone away, emails on mute etc.

Through being truly present with each other, we will create a beautiful connected and supportive space!
